Biography

Amy Goldstein is the Director of the Experimental College. She joined as Assistant Director in 2015 after many years of experience in both law and higher education administration. She holds a BA from the State University of New York, and a JD from Northeastern University. As an attorney she primarily worked with low-income clients and prisoners on a range of issues, including health care access, mental health treatment, and public benefits. As a higher ed administrator, she focused on program development, career counseling, and experiential learning at both Northeastern University and Suffolk University. She has taught at the high school, college, and law school levels.
 
At the ExCollege, Amy has been responsible for directing the Explorations first-year advising program, and she leads a seminar for peer teachers. She also oversees the twice-yearly process of selecting 15 new visiting lecturers each semester to teach small, interdisciplinary, discussion-based courses on innovative topics. In addition, the ExCollege welcomes collaborations with other Tufts departments to offer new learning opportunities. Outside of work, Amy likes doing crafty things like pottery, knitting, and up-cycling old chairs. She can sometimes be spotted walking around the neighborhood with her rescue dog, Luko.
